AAOS 2022 Annual Meeting attendees who joined AAOS as a new member in 2021 or 2022 are cordially invited to attend a New Member Luncheon today from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room E354b at the McCormick Place Convention Center.
This special event will feature a complimentary buffet reception with welcome addresses by AAOS President Daniel K. Guy, MD, FAAOS; AAOS Membership Council Chair Elizabeth G. Matzkin, MD, FAAOS; and guest speaker Ronald A. Navarro, MD, FAAOS.
“As chair of the Membership Council, it is a privilege to invite all our new members from 2021 and 2022 to join us at the New Member Luncheon,” said Dr. Matzkin. “It will be a great opportunity to meet other new members as well as members from our current AAOS leadership. Please join us for lunch, laughs, inspiration, and, most importantly, to make new connections.”
Dr. Navarro is a proud Hispanic American whose childhood dream was to become an orthopaedic/sports medicine specialist. He is currently the regional chief of orthopaedic surgery at Kaiser Permanente in southern California and is serving as a member on the AAOS Central Instructional Courses Committee, the AAOS Shoulder and Elbow Registry, and the AAOS Now Editorial Board. He is also a mentor in the AAOS Leadership Institute.
“It is my great honor to speak to new AAOS members as they are the continuing life blood of our great organization,” Dr. Navarro said. “I thank Dr. Guy for this important responsibility. I hope to share with the new members a professional life well lived through anecdotes as represented by badges and logos.”
Learn about your member benefits, volunteer opportunities, and the many ways the Academy can support you throughout your career. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to network with peers who are also new members, as well as esteemed AAOS volunteer ambassadors who are eager to answer your questions and help guide you as you begin your member journey.
We look forward to seeing you.
