Dedicated volunteers and AAOS staff members have worked hard to provide world-class educational products and programs that are relevant in today’s ever-changing environment. The AAOS 2022 Annual Meeting is the perfect place to explore the new products and programs the Academy offers to orthopaedic surgeons, practices, and the profession.
The AAOS Resource Center, located in Academy Hall, Hall B, is open Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. No matter one’s career stage, there is something for every member.
Come to the Resource Center to explore many hands-on demonstrations by AAOS’ knowledgeable staff. A variety of programs offer demonstrations highlighting in-depth knowledge about how the latest offerings can help orthopaedic surgeons with their daily practice.
Visitors also have the chance to test drive the all-new Resident Orthopaedic Core Knowledge (ROCK) program. AAOS has devoted tremendous resources to resident education to facilitate peak knowledge and propel the profession forward with a consistent baseline of knowledge for residents. ROCK is designed to empower residents with core foundational knowledge aligned to their individual needs, and each resident program director will have the flexibility to incorporate content at the depth, breadth, and timing necessary to achieve their program’s specific goals.
Stop by the Orthopaedic Code-X® booth and learn more about the premier coding tools (including the 2022 coding books) and other resources that AAOS offers. See why Code-X is a recipient of an American Medical Association Current Procedural Terminology Excellence in Education award.
Be sure to stop by for a one-on-one demo of the newly updated, member-exclusive Biologics Dashboard. Recent enhancements make it easier than ever for AAOS members to navigate the status of biologic-based interventions, including acceptable uses and levels of supporting evidence. The online dashboard is a dynamic, interactive tool that aggregates the various types of orthobiologic products currently available to orthopaedic surgeons in an easily searchable database.
Complimentary publications on the latest registry data
Hot off the press are digital copies of the AAOS American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR) 2021 Annual Report Supplement and the AAOS Registry Program Patient Report. The newest lineup for registry reports includes, for the first time, a patient-facing supplemental report that features information about all AAOS registries, including material about the importance of patient-reported outcome measures.
Representatives will be on hand to answer questions and show how registry participation can allow for data reuse from more than a dozen quality programs. You will have the opportunity to participate in live demos of the surgeon dashboards and provide feedback on how we can make these tools more useful in the future. The latest registry to join the portfolio is the Fracture & Trauma Registry, and representatives from the AJRR, the Shoulder & Elbow Registry, Musculoskeletal Tumor Registry, and the American Spine Registry—a collaboration with the American Association of Neurological Surgeons—will be available to explain the many benefits of registry participation.
