Engagement Theater showcases engaging presentations on a variety of topics every day, including advocacy; diversity, equity, and inclusion; research; mentoring; AAOS registries; the Women in Orthopaedics Worldwide collective; and international membership, just to name a few. Opportunities to engage with AAOS leadership abound, including presentations on the AAOS Leadership Institute, Committee Appointment Program, and Board of Councilors. Visitors can also view demonstrations of the Resident Orthopaedic Core Knowledge and Code-X® programs.
The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) is on hand to discuss Board Certification options, help you determine your progress, and clarify your requirements and how to fulfill them. You can also learn about the ABOS Web-Based Longitudinal Assessment pathway and other assessment options for recertification and explore self-assessment examinations on a broad range of topics relevant to your practice and patient care, helping you meet Maintenance of Certification requirements and goals.
Academy Hall also features a listing of upcoming orthopaedic didactic and hands-on skills courses from the Academy and other societies to help you secure continuing medical education credits. Try your hand at a number of interactive learning tools, activities, and programs. Test your knowledge and hone your skills through microlearning lessons, self-assessments, educational videos, on-demand modules, and more.
Also located in Academy Hall are more than 1,000 posters of the latest medical, clinical, and scientific research. Posters are available for viewing in two sessions: Session 1 is Tuesday and Wednesday, and Session 2 is Thursday and Friday. Posters are available for viewing from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Spend some time in the Orthopaedic Video Theater (OVT) to view the vast and growing collection of high-quality, dynamic orthopaedic videos from diverse perspectives, including globally renowned experts, leading institutions, industry, and OVT users. The enhanced video collection is a free AAOS member benefit.
In the Career Center, you can take advantage of expanded career services for members, including CV review, job search tools, interview practice and tips, and resources to negotiate physician employment contracts. The Academy Hall Career Center booth also offers an opportunity for hiring organizations and orthopaedic surgeons to meet in person regarding open positions.
Stop by the AAOS Registry Program booth in the Resource Center at Academy Hall. The latest registry to join AAOS is the Fracture & Trauma Registry. Representatives from the American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR), Shoulder & Elbow Registry, Musculoskeletal Tumor Registry, and American Spine Registry—a collaboration with the American Association of Neurological Surgeons—will be on hand to explain the many benefits of registry participation.
