Orthopaedic Video Theater (OVT) is a highlight of each AAOS Annual Meeting. Video monitors showcase award-winning videos in the longstanding OVT Plus surgical technique video collection, as well as those videos receiving honorable mention. This highly esteemed recognition is given to a few surgeons who are identified by their peers as having programs that are exceptional in quality and content.

The OVT in Academy Hall allows attendees to view the OVT collection, including 120 new videos uploaded this year. Attendees will also find monitors featuring the 2022 award-winning and honorable mention videos. The 2022 award winners will be celebrated Friday at 4 p.m. at the Poster Stage in Academy Hall.

There are two ways for authors to submit videos: the OVT Plus and OVT Now collections. The OVT Plus collection has an extensive peer-review process and comes with additional benefits. Lead authors enjoy free registration to the AAOS Annual Meeting, coauthors receive a reduced registration rate, and published videos can be included on CVs. Award-winning video abstracts can be submitted for publication in the Journal of the AAOS ^®. Many OVT Plus videos also have continuing medical education (CME) designation, making sure the material endures.

Alternatively, the OVT Now collection offers a faster way to get published with an expedited, lighter review process. Once uploaded, a video is submitted to AAOS committee members in the appropriate orthopaedic specialty and is quickly reviewed and published. This growing collection offers OVT viewers access to the very latest in orthopaedic surgical techniques.

OVT, a free benefit of AAOS membership at all levels, includes more than 1,600 peer-reviewed, high-quality surgical technique videos from renowned experts and innovators around the globe across orthopaedic topics. Most OVT Plus videos include 0.75 CME credits. The OVT platform also includes video content on Practice Management, Quality and Improvement, Industry, Institutions, Innovation Theater, and more.
