Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:

  1. Identify the surgical anatomy as it relates to arthroplasty of the hip and knee
  2. Combine clinical and radiographic information in pre-operative templating of hip and knee arthroplasty
  3. Practice exposure of the hip and knee with a variety of approaches
  4. Formulate strategies for intraoperative decision-making for releasing contractures, maximizing motion and retaining stability of the arthroplasty
  5. Manage and avoid postoperative complications following arthroplasty
  6. Understand the different component design and rationale for use with cementless and cemented arthroplasty
