AAOS International Scholars Program

True to its mission to help provide the highest quality musculoskeletal care, AAOS awards AAOS International Scholarships to eligible orthopaedic surgeons from countries with limited resources. The goal of the program is to improve the quality and outcomes of orthopaedic care worldwide  through education and training. Scholars attend a  surgical skills course of their choice at the  Orthopaedic Learning Center or an orthopaedic event in the United States. They then spend 3 to 5 days as observers at a US leading hospital.

Since the program started in 2002, over 165 scholars from 54 countries have gained access to unprecedented learning and mentoring opportunities. The scholarship programs launch them to a new level of expertise, which lasts a lifetime. Through sharing newly-acquired knowledge with peers and students, scholarship Alumni have facilitated professional development for hundreds of orthopaedists worldwide to impact global orthopaedic patient care.

The application for the 2019 Scholars Program will open in early summer of 2018. Learn how you can make an impact on the program!
