Charges
Members serving on the AAOS Social Media Ambassador Program:
- Work with AAOS staff to identify campaign ideas, conversation-starters, trend-spotting and input on the AAOS social media presence and content activity to drive engagement.
- Actively engage with major AAOS social media campaigns covering programs and events throughout the year.
- Share and engage with content from the AAOS social media channels in an effort to amplify reach to new audiences including peers, medical community, industry partners and patients.
- Participate in workgroup calls as needed throughout the year (3-4).
Recruitment & Qualifications
Members of the Social Media Ambassador Program are recruited by the Social Media Ambassador Program Chair and Vice Chair. The following qualifications should be considered when inviting members to join the program:
- The individual must be an AAOS member in good standing
- Maintain an active, steady and public social media presence, specifically on Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Facebook
- Exhibit strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices
- Be committed to sharing AAOS content on their social media profiles. It is understood that Ambassadors do not have to share or engage with every content request, but it is expected they respond to the majority of requests while serving as an AAOS Ambassador
- Wear the ‘AAOS brand’ when posting on social media. Ambassadors should be mindful of commentary posted online regarding the Academy while serving as a member volunteer and adhere to the standards included in the AAOS Code of Conduct
Term
Members on the AAOS Social Media Ambassador Program serve a 1-year term. They are eligible for one additional 1-year term.
