Patient safety is critical in the care and practice of orthopaedics. The AAOS seeks to improve clinical decision-making and clinician-patient discussions perioperatively by providing education, resources, and through advocacy efforts. The AAOS serves its membership and the public by monitoring healthcare safety issues and programs as they relate to orthopaedic surgery, care, and practice.
