Travel Information

Professional attire is appropriate at the meeting and to visit the exhibit area.  Some restaurants require coats and ties for gentleman, but most welcome casual attire.  Check each restaurant’s policy when making reservations.

ADA Needs
New Orleans has ADA accessible guestrooms at every hotel. Please specify your needs when making your reservations.

Call the CorpTrav at 1 800-318-3846 or go online to make your reservation online.  A per reservation service fee of $15 (online) and $32 (telephone) will be charged.

The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport  is located 20 miles (30-minutes) from downtown New Orleans. The airport facility is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Airport Shuttle
Airport Shuttle is the company that provides transportation from the airport to hotels and various other locations in the New Orleans for $24.00 (per person, one-way) or $44.00 (per person, round-trip). These fares include three (3) bags per person. Additional baggage may be subject to additional fees. Passengers can purchase tickets at the Airport Shuttle ticket booths located on the first level throughout the Baggage Claim area. Book online at AAOS 2018 Airport Shuttle to receive a discounted rate of $20 (one-way) and $40 (round-trip).

Hotel Shuttles
Run between the hotels and the Morial Convention Center starting Tuesday, March 6, at 6:30 AM through Saturday, March 10, at 6:00 PM. There will be no service between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

Public Transportation
There are 30 different bus routes in the city. And for only $1.25 per trip, you can cover everything on your list in the Garden District, and still make it back for an early dinner in the French Quarter. To get to or from the airport, you can use the RTA’s 202 Airport Express,which travels from the airport terminals to Elk Place at Canal Street in downtown New Orleans. The fare is $1.50 and the bus makes 9 daily trips to New Orleans.

Rental Cars
Reservations can be made via Wyndham Jade, your travel agent, or directly with rental car companies. AAOS has negotiated special rates for rental cars during the meeting. Call the number below and mention the discount code listed.

Streetcars in New Orleans offer $1.25 fares and can be paid with exact change when you board. One, three, and 31-day unlimited ride “Jazzy Passes” are also available for $3, $9 and $55 respectively. See the Regional Transit Authority (RTA)'s website for a list of places to purchase these. You can also download the ‘ RTA GoMobile ’ app and pay your fare instantly from your phone! Please note that passes are non-refundable and non-replaceable.

There are three different lines: St. Charles, Canal Street, and the Riverfront, each of which originates downtown but takes you different parts of the city.

Taxi Service
A cab ride costs $36-$40 from the airport to the Central Business District (CBD) for one person and $15.00 (per passenger) for three or more passengers. Pick-up is on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area. There may be an additional charge for extra baggage. A cross-town ride from your French Quarter/downtown hotel to an uptown jazz club or neighborhood restaurant is typically under $20. Please note that these fares are subject to change. The fare prices fluctuate a dollar or two depending on the time of year. App based rides are also available to and from the airport.

The average temperature in the New Orleans area in March is 62 degrees Fahrenheit, with an average high of 71 and an average low of 52. Pack an umbrella for the possibility of showers during your visit.
