In this module, a background of the origin of quality improvement will be reviewed, and individual pioneers highlighted. Major organizations and programs focused on quality improvement and patient safety will be evaluated. Participants will be able to distinguish between the various quality improvement models and processes. Finally, participants will be able to create an AIM statement for a quality improvement project.
