Proximal Adductor Repair with Suture Anchor Technique

PURPOSE: Adductor injuries are relatively common groin injuries in athletes.METHODS: Various tenotomy techniques have been described including open pie crusting, partial transverse, z-plasty, and percutaneous needle-based tenotomy. Current techniques help most athletes return to sport, however many develop adductor weakness and cannot return to their preinjury level of play.RESULTS: In this video, we describe an endoscopic z-plasty adductor tenotomy with the potential to minimize complications associated with open procedures such as incisional pain and neurovascular injury while affording a more complete tenotomy than current percutaneous techniques.CONCLUSION: Endoscopic adductor tenotomy is a safe and effective technique that allows for release of the pathologic adductor tendon under direct visualization while avoiding the morbidity associated with more open and invasive techniques.
