Proximal Femur Derotation Osteotomy With Pediatric Proximal Femur Nailing

Thirteen consecutive children (18 extremities) with cerebral palsy underwent proximal femoral derotation osteotomy with the use of a pediatric proximal femoral nail. The patients underwent the procedure between 2012 and 2015. The mean patient age at the time of surgery was 10.7 years ± 3.7 years. Gait improvement was achieved in patients with internal rotation. All patients had complete consolidation on imaging studies. No infection or loss of fixation was reported. Delayed union occurred in one patient.
