Revision of Failed Total Shoulder Arthroplasty to Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty With Dissimilar Implant Manufacturers: Case Presentation and Surgical Technique
This video discusses the case presentation of a patient in whom total shoulder arthroplasty failed and was revised to reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, with retention of the humeral component by one manufacturer (compatible revision to reverse component) and revision of the glenoid component to a metaglene design by a different manufacturer (compatible radius of curvature). The indications for total shoulder arthroplasty/reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, relevant anatomy, surgical technique, postoperative protocol, rationale for decision making, and tips and tricks for revision in this setting are discussed.
