AAOS Board Takes Professional Compliance Actions

At its meeting on June 9, 2019, the Board of Directors of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) considered the following licensure compliance matters not related to the AAOS Standards of Professionalism and took the actions indicated.

Harish S. Hosalkar, MD
San Diego
AAOS Fellowship Suspended

Pursuant to the Medical Board of California Settlement and Disciplinary Order effective November 2018, Dr. Hosalkar’s license to practice medicine is under three years’ probation, in which his research practice is restricted. Dr. Hosalkar is restricted from serving as a principal investigator and initiating or participating in an Institutional Review Board submission process.

The AAOS Board of Directors voted to suspend Dr. Hosalkar’s Fellowship in AAOS until he holds a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
