Join the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) on Friday for a full-day program. This collaboration covers trending topics and current controversies in shoulder, elbow, knee, and hip surgery, offering a comprehensive educational experience for all attendees. The event will be held from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Ballroom 20D.
Co-chaired by William J. Ciccone II, MD, FAAOS, FAANA; Andrea M. Spiker, MD, FAAOS, FAANA; Rachel M. Frank, MD, FAAOS; and Michael J. O’Brien, MD, FAAOS, this program features three collaborative sessions from both societies, as well as breakout sessions where participants can choose to attend either AANA- or ASES-led discussions. The combined sessions include instability, rotator cuff, arthritis, and the recognition of AANA and ASES past presidents. Following these sessions, participants can select from one of two breakout sessions focused on specific topics. The AANA session topics include anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), patellofemoral, hip, and the AANA Innovation Lecture. The ASES sessions focus on primary arthroplasty, shoulder fractures, revisionplasty, and elbow potpourri.
Sessions include presentations, case discussions, debates, and Q&As for in-depth overviews of multiple joints. Attendees can expect to leave the program with the knowledge and skills needed to implement effective evaluation algorithms for musculoskeletal conditions pertaining to shoulder, elbow, knee, and hip joints. Additionally, attendees can plan to utilize both surgical and nonsurgical treatment recommendations for clinically treating patients, apply minimally invasive techniques for common surgical repairs, and much more. The highly anticipated AANA Innovations Lecture will also return, presented by Danny P. Goel, MD, FRCSC, featuring the latest innovations the practicing surgeon needs to know now.
Presentations among the breakout sessions will address key complications and complex scenarios that arise in the OR, such as the role of anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty in 2025, anatomic to reverse with glenoid bone loss, proximal ACL tears, patellofemoral instability, hip cartilage issues, and other related topics.
Information on the full program and scheduled topics/speakers can be found at aana.org/specialtyday. AANA and ASES look forward to seeing you there.
