During a year of progress, purpose, and momentum for AAOS, significant strides were made to advance the orthopaedic profession, support members, and improve the quality of care for patients. With real-time evaluations and adjustments made to programs across AAOS, the organization showed dedication to seeking and acting on member feedback and was more focused than ever on building the future of orthopaedics.
The 2025 Annual Report highlights the extensive accomplishments AAOS made through the collaboration of members, leaders, and staff.
Both digital and in-person educational offerings expanded and evolved throughout 2025, allowing AAOS to continually meet members’ needs and preferences.
The 2025 Annual Meeting, held in San Diego, brought together thousands of orthopaedic surgeons, residents, and allied health professionals to exchange knowledge, explore the latest and greatest in innovative technologies, and engage in hands-on learning. Outside of the meeting, AAOS worked to elevate resident learning through enhancements to the ROCK and ResStudy platforms. Webinars, the Orthopaedic Video Theater, and newly launched digital education product lines brought support for all learning styles and needs to members’ fingertips.
In the lab, AAOS offered a comprehensive lineup of in-person courses to advance orthopaedic education across all specialties, the newest of which was OrthoSkills: Techniques in Sports Medicine and Total Hip.
AAOS continued to develop and enhance tools to aid members in providing the highest quality musculoskeletal care for their patients, including evidence-based resources, strengthened quality programs, and initiatives that promote data-driven decision making and improved patient outcomes.
The AAOS Orthobiologics Registry was added to the AAOS Registry Program, underscoring the AAOS’ dedication to rigorous science, meaningful collaboration, and the future of the orthopaedic field.
In leadership and governance, 2025 marked a year of thoughtful evolution. AAOS continued to modernize its governance by streamlining bylaws, invested in leadership development, and reinforced transparency, engagement, and responsiveness.
These efforts positioned AAOS for long-term sustainability and relevance in an increasingly complex healthcare environment.
Commitment to advocating for issues that matter to AAOS members, and their patients remained strong throughout the year.
Members, leaders, and staff worked together to champion orthopaedic issues such as reimbursement and site-of-service concerns, scope of practice, research funding, regulatory modernization, and protecting patient access to high-quality care.
Not only has AAOS worked tirelessly over the last year to support its members and the current state of orthopaedics but also laid the groundwork and designed the blueprint for future leaders and orthopaedic professionals.
By focusing on and preparing to embrace what comes next, AAOS will remain the leading voice in musculoskeletal health for years to come.
