Traveling From Outside the U.S.? Here's What You Need to Know.

  • Traveling from abroad for this year’s meeting? Complete the International Housing form for exclusive international travel options from AAOS-IGD, the official housing vendor for AAOS 2026 Annual Meeting.

  • Complete and submit the official AAOS Letter of Invitation for the 2026 Annual Meeting. Applicants will be asked to provide supporting documentation, such as:

    • Proof of professional, scientific, or educational status
    • Society membership
    • Confirmation of meeting registration
  • A foreign national traveling to the United States for tourism needs a Visitor Visa (B-2) unless qualifying for entry under the Visa Waiver Program.

    Visa Application Guidance:
Visa applicants must demonstrate strong ties to their home country or country of permanent residence, as this is a key factor in the approval process. Examples include employment, family, or property. Applications are generally more successful when submitted through the applicant’s home country’s U.S. embassy or consulate.

When applying for a visa, be prepared to present:

    • Your full travel itinerary, including any travel outside the U.S.
    • Documentation supporting your intent to return to your home country

Please note: All applicants must independently meet the visa eligibility requirements under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act.

    For additional support:

  • AAOS 2025 successfully completed the Ethical MedTech Compliance application that found the meeting was compliant. Learn more about view validation of compliance

Stay tuned—MedTech Compliance for the 2026 Annual Meeting is expected this fall.

Important Reminder
