Education Enhancement Fund Governance Committee

 

Overall Purpose/Mission

The Education Enhancement Fund Governance Committee was created to serve as the governing body of the new AAOS Education Enhancement Fund (AEEF). This fund was established in late 2010 in order to raise funds to maintain AAOS education programs and to enhance our offerings. The committee will as a Finance Committee, monitoring funds and approving proposals from the Council on Education for funding of projects to enhance AAOS education activities. It will also be involved in growing the fund to gain new contributions and to obtain continuing commitments from previous donors.

 

Charges

1. Align all activities to support execution and achievement of the mission, vision, goals, strategic objectives and metrics of the Strategic Plan and conduct all business in accordance with the Core Values as adopted by the Board of Directors.

2. Grow the Education Enhancement Fund by assisting staff in the development of fundraising strategies, soliciting donations and enlisting others to raise funds on behalf of the AEEF.

3. With the assistance of the staff, communicate decisions about the fund regularly and widely to the Fellowship and other donors, with particular emphasis on its accomplishments.

4. Select project to be funded and take into consideration the perceived value to our membership, such that Academy Fellows will appreciate the importance of the fund and be motivated to contribute on an ongoing basis.

5. Act as a Finance Committee, monitoring funds and approving proposals from the Council on Education for funding to enhance AAOS education activities.

 

Reporting Relationship

Reports to the Council on Education.

For chair, term concurrent with his/her term on Council on Education.

For Board members term concurrent with their term on Board of Directors.
