Wilford K Gibson MD FAAOS is a partner at Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists (AOS) in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Dr. Gibson graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond where he competed in the hurdles and sprint relays on the university division 1 track team. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Virginia followed by a surgery internship at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP).
Dr. Michael Parks is Associate Attending at Hospital for Special Surgery and Associate Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at Weill Cornell College of Medicine in New York. He is a graduate of Duke University the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where he received the President’s Clinical Science Award. Dr. Parks completed an internship in General and Thoracic Surgery followed by an orthopaedic residency at Duke University Medical Center. He continued his training at Hospital for Special Surgery with a fellowship on the Hip and Knee Service where he remains in practice today.
Elizabeth G. Matzkin, MD, FAAOS 2nd Vice President
Elizabeth Matzkin, MD is the Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at Mass General Brigham and an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. She has developed a nationally recognized, world-class program for female athletes, supported by a robust research portfolio focused on Women’s Sports Medicine. Dr. Matzkin is highly regarded for her excellence in education, research, and patient care, and is deeply committed to mentoring fellows, residents, and students as she helps train the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.
Dr. Kocher is the Chief of the Division of Sports Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, O’Donnell Family Endowed Chair, and Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He is an expert in pediatric orthopaedics, sports medicine, and clinical epidemiology.
Ned Amendola, MD, is currently the Virginia Flowers Baker Distinguished Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Chief of the Sports Medicine Division, and Executive Director of the James R. Urbaniak Sports Sciences Institute at Duke University. In addition, he is the Head Team physician and Chief Medical Officer for Duke Athletics.
Jim W. Barber, M.D, was born in Augusta, GA and attended Dunwoody High School. He graduated from Georgia Tech in Computer Science in 1989, then Medical College of Georgia in 1993. Upon completing orthopaedic residency at Georgia Baptist (Atlanta Medical Center), he began private practice in general orthopaedics in Douglas, GA. He married Douglas native Jessica and they are raising three wonderful girls: Emma (age 20), Amelia (age 18), and Clara (age 14). His family enjoys traveling, sailing, and church.
Dr. McLaughlin is the Director Emeritus of the Kennedy Center for the Hip and Knee in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He specializes in primary and revision total hip arthroplasty. Dr. McLaughlin graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he graduated cum laude and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He has presented and published numerous scientific articles and abstracts and was the recipient of the CCJR OREF Foundation Award. He has served medical societies at the local level, the state level, the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association and the AAOS for thirty years.
Sanj Kakar, MD, MBA is a Professor of Orthopaedics, Program Director of Hand Surgery, Associate Dean within Continuous Professional Development and Medical Director for Accreditation of Clinical Services at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, Past President and Board of Councilor representative of the Minnesota Orthopaedic Society. A graduate of St. Bartholomew’s and The Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry, he received his surgical training at University College London, The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and The Royal Free, before completing his Orthopaedic Residency at Boston University, Boston. After receiving his Master’s in Business Administration from Babson College, he completed his Hand Surgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
Dr. Samora is currently a pediatric hand surgeon at Nationwide Children's Hospital, where she is Associate Chief Quality Officer, and director of QI within the orthopaedic department. Next month, she will begin her tenure as Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery at Akron Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Nichols is a board-certified pediatric surgeon and co-director of the Clubfoot Clinic and Arthrogryposis Program at Nemours Children’s Health, Delaware. She also serves as assistant professor of orthopedic surgery and pediatrics at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
Dr. Lattisha Bilbrew is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery and a partner at Resurgens Orthopaedics, Georgia’s largest orthopedic practice. She is the first Black woman to become a partner within the organization and one of fewer than five practicing Black female orthopaedic surgeons in the state—advancing representation in a field where fewer than 2% of surgeons are women of color.
Dr. Yale Fillingham specializes in hip and knee reconstruction at Rothman Orthopaedics, where he is the vice chair of research and an associate professor at Thomas Jefferson University. He earned his undergraduate degree with honors in Biophysical Chemistry from Dartmouth College and completed his medical education at Rush Medical College in Chicago, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He remained at Rush University Medical Center to complete his orthopaedic residency, followed by fellowship training in adult hip and knee reconstruction at the Rothman Institute.
Dr. Gill is the immediate past Chairman of the Orthopaedic Political Action Committee (OrthoPAC), having served in that position from 2015-2023. He is a past chairman of the AAOS Board of Councilors, and has previously served on the Academy Board of Directors, the AAOS Nominating Committee, the Council on Advocacy, the Council on Research, and as chairman of the Advocacy Resource Committee (ARC).
Dr. Eli Powell is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and sub-specialty board certified in Orthopedic Sports Medicine, with decades of experience treating professional, collegiate, and recreational athletes. He is President of OrthoAlaska, the largest provider of musculoskeletal care in the State of Alaska.
Sean Tabaie, MS, MD, FAAOS, is an orthopaedic surgeon at Children's National Hospital in Washington DC and an assistant professor at the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. His professional journey is characterized by his commitment to enhancing the lives of children facing complex pediatric orthopaedic conditions. With a particular focus on neuromuscular disorders, cerebral palsy, limb reconstruction and trauma, he has dedicated his career to delivering the highest standard of care to young patients with orthopaedic needs.
Tim Constantine is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the healthcare industry, including serving as President and/or CEO of various organizations from 2001 to 2022. Throughout his career, Mr. Constantine has focused his efforts on working collaboratively with other stakeholders and partners to improve the quality and enhance the affordability of healthcare. He retired from Highmark Inc. in January 2023 after serving in several roles, most recently as Chairperson of the board of directors of United Concordia Companies, Inc., Highmark’s national dental subsidiary. Mr. Constantine was appointed President of United Concordia in May 2017, elected its President and CEO in August 2019, and became Board Chair in 2020.
Lilly Marks served from 2010-2020 as Vice President for Health Affairs for the University of Colorado and Anschutz Medical Campus, which includes the university’s Schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, College of Nursing and Graduate School and the University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital Colorado. Prior to her health campus leadership role, Ms. Marks spent two decades serving concurrently as Senior Associate Dean for Finance and Administration of the School of Medicine and as Executive Director of University of Colorado Medicine, the 501(c)(3) faculty practice organization (formerly University Physicians, Inc.).
