Residents! Advance your surgical skills for complex and revision TKA and THA with guidance from expert faculty
Experience 2.5 content-packed days rotating between dynamic classroom sessions and hands-on cadaver labs, refining your skills for an array of advanced foundational hip and knee arthroplasty procedures. This course is specially designed for senior residents, in PGY's 3 - 5.
Most of your course time is spent in the lab practicing surgical approaches, working closely with course faculty in a personalized learning environment.
Engaging lectures, lively faculty panels, and small-group case discussions round out your experience, covering important topics including:
- Preoperative planning for complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement
- Extensile approaches to revision hip and knee replacement
- Acetabular bone loss assessment and approach to reconstruction in revision THA
- Revision THA: extended trochanteric osteotomy and choice of femoral stem
- Revision TKA: augments, metaphyseal fixation and stems
- Periprosthetic joint infection: prevention, diagnosis and treatment
- Use of technology to assist complex primary and revision TJA
- Career planning and advice for the future arthroplasty surgeon
