Dr. Cuadra earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma De Nicaragua in Managua, Nicaragua, and specialized in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Hospital Antonio Lenin Fonseca, Managua, Nicaragua. He then got further post-graduate orthopaedic training by participating in courses, fellowships and workshops in USA, Germany and Mexico.  Dr. Cuadra currently practices at the Hospital Vivian Pellas with a focus on joints, trauma surgery, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, and knee and hip replacement as elective surgeries. He also takes care of middle to high complexity trauma. Dr. Cuadra is engaged in academic work with the residents of public hospitals and arranges monthly meetings for orthopedic knowledge update and journal club, as well as organizes talks and lectures of visiting surgeons.

Dr. Cuadra authored multiple publications and presented in many orthopaedic events. Dr. Cuadra is a member of several medical and orthopaedic societies, including:

  • Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA)
  • American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS)
  • Nicaraguan Association of Orthopedics and Traumatology
  • Mexican Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon

    Dr. Cuadra’s award is supported by the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS). As a 2019 AAOS International Scholar, Dr. Cuadra will attend the 2019 AAHKS Annual Meeting and will have an observership at an USA hospital.
