Each residency program is asked to nominate one Resident to be the Resident Delegate to the Resident Assembly. Each year, Resident Delegates are invited to attend the AAOS Resident Assembly Annual Meeting at the AAOS Annual Meeting as the voting representative for his/her orthopaedic residency program. During this meeting, delegates vote on the goals for the following year and select members-at-large for the Executive Committee. Serving as an RA Delegate gives a seat at the table to shape the future of your residency .

Delegates should also consider signing up for one of the Resident Assembly's six committees. Committee members have the opportunity to contribute their valuable and unique insights to subject areas like career development, DEI, education, health policy, innovation and research.
"Serving as a Resident Assembly Delegate has allowed me to mentor medical students interested in orthopaedics, improve the KSB case log and assessment system, as well as learn more about the many ways AAOS engages members. I would recommend becoming a delegate because it opens the door to opportunities on a nationwide level.”
