How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
The AAOS keeps me informed about the latest trends and evidence-based practice guidelines, even in areas beyond my subspecialty. The Annual Meeting provides an invaluable opportunity to network and connect with colleagues from across the globe. Additionally, volunteering on various committees has enabled me to grow professionally and gain deeper insight into the significant impact the AAOS has on our community.

As an Active Fellow Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
There are a multitude of AAOS resources I have taken advantage of including the OVT (Orthopaedic Video Theater), JAAOS to keep up to date on current guidelines, Career Center, and access to CME material (OKU, OnDemand courses, Self-Assessments)

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
One of my former attendings during residency used to tell patients “There is no surgery that can’t make you worse”.  I took that to heart and always try to have a thoughtful discussion with my patients regarding the risks and benefits of how surgery can impact their lives.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?
I try to review all my clinic patients before the week starts and make notes to help remind me of important items.  I share the notes with my APP.  During the chaos of clinic, this has helped me stay on course and hopefully on time!

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Trying to focus on my health, I am trying to make it a habit to drink enough water, especially on OR days.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
Love traveling to different countries and exploring the different cultures, foods, and beauty at each unique location. Cooking, and enjoying the outdoors with my friends and dogs.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I was just ordained as a minister to officiate a friend’s wedding.  I am open for business!
