How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
The AAOS has been a great source of guidance throughout my career, from resident to practitioner and an entrepreneur. It has provided me with the confidence and the skill to excel in the field of my orthopedic practice. It has nurtured my interest in orthopedic research and provided excellent tools to conduct cutting-edge research.

As an Associate Orthopaedic Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
Website and surgical videos, as it has helped me to interact with peers and learn from our experiences to shape the future of orthopedic surgery.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
The best advice I have received was from my mentor, John M.” Jack” Flynn, MD Chief of the Division of Orthopedics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). He told me “Your practice is like a train, the first few years you pull it and then it goes on to cruise mode and finally runs over you.” This pearl has been my mantra, to “balance my personal, spiritual, and practice life”. Be happy, be content and live to the fullest every moment.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I enjoy boxing and can throw 60 punches in 60 seconds!  I box every morning before I get to the operating room so my OR staff can dodge some punches! Aloha! You guys are the best.
