How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
AAOS provides orthopedic surgeons with a platform to present and share innovative ideas. This has facilitated me to discuss outcomes of novel treatment strategies with my peers from across the globe which has allowed me to adapt and improve my surgical practice.

As an Associate Orthopaedic Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
The Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (JAAOS) provides a comprehensive overview of complex orthopedic pathologies. This groundswell of knowledge has exposed me to a broad scope of practices from, not only a North American perspective but from an international perspective.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
My mentor, Dr. Walther Bohne, advised me that “if you’re doing the same operation that I’m teaching you today in 10 years, you’re doing the wrong operation”.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I am a third-generation pilot. My grandfather and father were both pilots. My children are continuing the familial legacy of aviation, as both of my children are 4th generation pilots.
