How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?

AAOS has provided evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and the AAOS Annual Meeting that I was able to attend in 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada was helpful.

As an Allied member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
AAOS Now Magazine is my most used resource. I particularly enjoy the Quality and Research section to stay up to date on emerging topics.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
You are totally replaceable at work. You are not replaceable at home. I have seen this from various outlets on social media but do not recall a specific person or organization that made it popular. This now hits me harder as a new mom.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?
To increase my productivity, I will go into my office and close the door, hoping no one disturbs me unless necessary. I also like to play Harry Potter soundtracks as background noise.

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
I am trying to learn Italian and have been using an app daily to learn a little bit at a time.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
With being in orthopaedics, I try and practice what I preach with diet and exercise. I enjoy trying new foods by either cooking or visiting a new restaurant. I also run for aerobic exercise with a friend. I lift weights for injury prevention and because it makes me feel stronger.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I am a two-time state champion in Indiana for girls’ basketball.
