How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
The AAOS has been the consistent professional home throughout my training and early career. At the Annual Meeting, from when I was a medical student to now as an attending, there is always a strong sense of camaraderie and shared purpose. The AAOS has largely been the ‘invisible hand’ that creates opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and the open exchange of ideas that have directly shaped how I think about patient care, research, and professional development.
As a Candidate Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
I rely most heavily on the Yellow Journal (JAAOS: The Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons). JAAOS synthesizes evolving literature into practical frameworks, making it an essential resource for staying current while balancing the demands of clinical care, research, and education.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
“Attention to detail is the key to success” from my middle school history teacher. I return to this quote frequently and find it applicable in most arenas in life.
What’s your go-to productivity trick?
Putting my phone in another room
What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Doing some sort of exercise every day - no matter how small
What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family and remaining as active as possible - any sport or outdoor activity with friends or family.
