How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?

As a resident, it provided me with numerous educational resources, including the monthly Journal of AAOS, hands-on courses, and Res Study question bank for board preparation. Now in practice, I still utilize the online material to ensure I am following practice guidelines.

As a Candidate Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
For staying up to date on peer-reviewed topics, I always read through JAAOS (Yellow Journal). I also enjoy watching the videos from the Orthopedic Video Theater (OVT) to learn more about new surgical techniques or review older content.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?

“You can only do your best”- my dad would always tell me this throughout my medical training and it still holds true in my life today.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?
Making a list and setting a 25-minute timer. I work for 25 minutes and then give myself a 5-minute break. Rinse and repeat- this helps to keep me fresh and on-task.

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?

Finishing my dictations at the end of each day.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?

Spending time with my family, exercising, golfing, and home renovation.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
My wife and I are high school sweethearts, and our first class together was actually back in kindergarten at Randels Elementary.
