As an Emeritus Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
I use the weekly webinars, AAOS Annual Meeting, and focused meetings.

If you were mentoring a new Member, what important advice would you give them as they progress in their career?
Never give up and stay current, including technology.

What aspect of retirement surprised you the most?
I was most surprised after I retired how much I missed orthopedics. I began volunteering with HVO.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
My hobbies are going to the gym, traveling, enjoying my grandchildren, and meeting new people.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I lived on a yacht in the Caribbean for 6 months a year for 9 years and I just began a journey to contract at the VHA in an outpatient clinic. My deceased husband was an orthopod, and my oldest son, Dr. Joseph King III, is a shoulder surgeon at UF Health Shands Hospital and also a member of AAOS. My daughter is an attorney and works for NOAA in international fisheries. My younger son is a Captain with Allegiant Airlines.
