How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
In so many ways! Learning through Res Study and JAAOS articles, advancing my surgical skills through AAOS courses (the fundamentals of knee & shoulder arthroscopy course as a PGY3 was tremendously helpful) and networking with peers and future employers at the annual academy meeting, just to name a few!

As a Fellowship Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
I frequently read articles published in JAAOS, show patients resources from OrthoInfo, and check the Accelerate job platform for potential employment opportunities.

What’s the best advice you were ever given?
I was once told to "be where your feet are," and it resonated with me ever since. In our field, and in the hyper digital world in which we live, it's so easy to get wrapped up with other things we have going on. But whether you're examining a patient, performing an operation, or eating dinner with your spouse, it's critical to put everything else aside and "be where your feet are".

What’s your go-to productivity trick?
The notes app in my phone. Oftentimes we think we'll remember something in the moment, and later we forget it. Writing things down not only saves them for later reference but also mentally solidifies them via rote memorization. Be it to-do lists, steps of cases, etc. this trick works for everything.

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Playing pickleball at least once or twice a week. I've always been good at finding time to workout, but pickleball has become a new hobby of mine. The team aspect of it, and the competition, prompts a dopamine response that's different from regular workouts.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
Spending time with my wife and dog, family and friends. Lifting weights, playing pickleball and basketball, watching football and college basketball, cooking, and trying new restaurants and wines.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I was the captain of my high school debate team and once thought I would end up as a trial lawyer.
