How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
From early in medical school, the Journal of the AAOS was one of my most trusted resources for learning. I often turned to its review articles, which provided comprehensive overviews and guided me to foundational primary literature. Publishing a review paper in JAAOS during my fourth year of residency alongside my mentors was a career milestone and a full-circle moment that reflected years of inspiration from the Academy.

As a Fellowship Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
Attending the AAOS Annual Meeting for the first time this past year was one of the most impactful experiences of my training. It made the vast world of orthopaedics feel both connected and accessible. I reconnected with colleagues, mentors, and friends from every stage of my journey—from medical school to fellowship interviews—and even met the group I will be joining next year. The meeting truly embodies the spirit of the AAOS: education, collaboration, and opportunity.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
The best advice I’ve ever received came from my mom: “Whatever you want to do in life—no matter how big or small—make sure you’re passionate about it and strive to be the best you can at it.” That advice has guided every step of my career. Pursuing what I love keeps me motivated and allows me to bring genuine enthusiasm and positivity to my patients and colleagues each day.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?
I maximize my downtime by listening to podcasts and audiobooks at 2–3x speed during my commute or workouts. Between driving and exercise, I usually gain two extra hours of learning each day. The AAOS and JAAOS podcasts are some of my favorites—they offer concise, high-yield discussions that keep me current on the latest research and professional insights.

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
I’m dedicating time each day to learning Spanish so I can better communicate and connect with a broader range of patients.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
I love getting outdoors—whether it’s a quick walk in nature after work or a weekend spent snowboarding or boating. Staying active and spending time with family and friends helps me decompress and stay balanced.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know.
During undergrad, I studied abroad at Oxford University for six months—an experience that shaped how I approach lifelong learning and global perspectives in medicine.
