Orthopaedic Surgery Resident
Qatar

How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
The AAOS provides a platform for orthopaedic surgeons worldwide to connect, exchange ideas and learn from each other.  By joining AAOS, access to international surgeons, valuable educational resources and funding opportunities for research ensures one could stay up to date with the latest advancements in orthopaedics and contribute to advancing orthopaedic surgery through research.

As an International Resident Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
The AAOS OITE question bank and OVT have been essential resources throughout my residency training as they provide up-to-date knowledge, easily accessible and interactive.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
Learn from everyone but be yourself.  By learning from others while still being true to oneself, one can develop a rich and diverse perspective on life that allows for personal growth and fulfilment.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?
Break tasks into smaller chunks and reduce distractions: Divide larger tasks into smaller, more manageable pieces to avoid feeling overwhelmed and make more progress.

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Reading (non-medical books) and doing more regular exercise!

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
I enjoy outdoor activities, particularly horseback riding, playing paddle & football, and spending time with friends and family.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I'm a former Taekwondo black belt! I used to be a martial arts fanatic, but I'm a bit out of practice these days. I might not be breaking boards anymore, but I still have some pretty impressive kicks!
