How has the AAOS helped you during residency?
The AAOS has helped me find a community outside my residency program. It has been amazing getting to know people with different ideas and experiences at the annual meetings. Now, I look forward to going every year to catch up with my friends and mentors - while having the privilege to grow and learn from them.
As a Resident Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
I think ResStudy is a great resource that helps highlight key concepts. I appreciate the high-yield articles attached to the questions as well. In addition, the Orthopedic Video Theater is awesome because it allows me to watch other experts share their technical tips and tricks when I prepare for cases. Taking part in the AAOS Resident Bowl with my co-residents has also been a fun way to keep learning while working together on a team.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
My parents have taught me that every day on Earth is an opportunity, and to take advantage of each day we are given, however that may be!
What’s your go-to productivity trick?
Turn on my Spotify app and plug my headphones in - 90’s hip hop and house music are my go-to’s!
What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Last year, my new year’s resolution was to go to the gym or exercise in some form for half the days each month. I would like to continue doing this while sticking to this year’s resolution: having home-made food for half my meals.
What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
Golf - I made my first hole-in-one last year, traveling, trying new restaurants. collecting vinyl records. hanging out with my wife, who is finishing her fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology this year!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I have been to over 40 countries! I would say visiting the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador was my favorite.
