How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
Throughout my training, AAOS was one of my primary resources, particularly JAAOS and its board preparation materials. I have also greatly valued the opportunities to collaborate and build community at the Annual Meeting.

As an Active Fellow Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
I frequently direct patients to OrthoInfo because it provides reliable, easy-to-understand educational materials. I have also benefited from the practice management resources as well as the AAOS Career podcast.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
Learn from your failures and always strive to improve. This was a principle I learned from my residency mentor, Dr. Mark Price, who inspired my career in shoulder surgery.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?
I use color-coded checklists, both handwritten and digital, to help organize and prioritize the many moving parts of family life, clinical responsibilities, and administrative work.

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Reading nonmedical books. I joined a book group to encourage me to read more consistently.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
I enjoy time with my husband and two young daughters. I love being outside running, rowing, hiking, and growing vegetables in our garden.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know.
I have hiked all 48 of New Hampshire’s 4,000 foot mountains.
