How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
The AAOS has been supportive of my ongoing professional development, providing me with important insights into the most innovative surgical techniques and allowing me to keep my knowledge up to date.

As an International Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
The Orthopaedic Video Theatre has certainly been a valuable tool for my clinical practice.

Participating in the Annual Meeting is a source of inspiration and motivation to improve and provide the highest therapeutic standards to patients. It is also a great opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from around the world.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
My mentors (Dr. Giulio Lauri and Dr. Sandra Pfanner) taught me to treat not only the diseases but to take care of the patients, not neglecting any detail and especially communication and humanity. In particular, my chief has always advised me to be less rigid with myself and with others.

What’s your go-to productivity trick?
It's not the quantity of time, but the quality of the time you dedicate to your activities: concentration is the only rule.

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Collecting data to keep track of my activities, to be as objective as possible in evaluating the results and the effectiveness of the treatments.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
I like to work out to distract myself. I love spending time outdoors, I often organize trekking activities in my free time.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I love dogs, and my boss asked me to take care of her little dog Maki while she was out for a conference. I brought the dog to my house and after half a day, it broke all my Chianti wine bottles, spilling them on the floor. When I got home, I thought it was the blood of my boss's dog, and I was terrified of the consequences!!
