Why did you join AAOS
I joined AAOS to access high-quality orthopaedic education, build a strong professional network, and stay engaged in the field as a whole.
What are you looking forward to most about AAOS?
I’m most looking forward to connecting with healthcare providers in orthopaedic surgery and identifying mentorship opportunities to be a continuous learner.
What interested you about orthopaedics?
Orthopaedic surgery uniquely combines problem-solving, a direct impact on patient function, and generally positive patient interactions in a way other specialties do not. Also, I love using all the cool tools.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
“Very little in orthopaedic surgery is absolute. Open fractures must be closed, and infection must be avoided. Everything else pretty much lives on a spectrum that requires careful judgment.” -Dr. Luke Lopas
What’s your go-to productivity trick?
I make sure my phone is far away from me when I need to study or be productive. A great instrumental playlist can work wonders as well.
What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Getting as much sleep as I can before residency begins!
What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
I enjoy going to OKC Thunder games, watching movies, and walking my two dogs with my girlfriend!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know.
I enjoy playing chess in my free time and am always open to a game anytime, anywhere.
