How has the AAOS helped you during residency?
The AAOS has been an invaluable source of high-quality educational resources throughout my residency. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using ResStudy, which has been essential in preparing for the in-training exam, as well as the Orthopaedic Video Theater, which I frequently use to prepare for upcoming cases.

As a Resident Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
All of the AAOS resources are exceptional, but like many residents, I rely most on ResStudy because the questions closely mirror the OITE and the explanations are concise and contain relevant literature. I’m also a bit old-school and always look forward to reading the newest hard copy of the Yellow Journal.

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
“This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:12–13

What’s your go-to productivity trick?
A dedicated workspace, strong coffee, and background country music are my perfect recipe for focus. I’m also a big fan of sticky notes and checklists; they help me visualize progress and stay organized.

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Going to bed early! I’m naturally a night owl and a sucker for binge-watching the latest true crime or detective series, so this one’s still a work in progress.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
I love spending time with my husband and our two-year-old German Shepherd, Axl. We enjoy exploring new wineries together, working out, or relaxing on our back porch.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know.
I joined the Army in high school (20 years ago this November), turned 18 during basic training, and served nearly 12 years as a court reporter. I was honored to be selected as the 19th SGT Eric L. Coggins Award recipient
